Maintain and/or repair all mechanical, electrical, and electronic components on a wide variety of commercial vehicles and  equipment within time limits as outlined in standard labor guidelines

Perform duties during regular working hours and when circumstances arise, additional duty time required to complete a  dispatched call or task requested by management 

Must be capable of frequent walking, standing, kneeling, stooping, heavy lifting, and carrying at least 50 pounds Must be willing and able to work outside and inside on slippery or uneven surfaces and ladders 

Be comfortable with exposure with exposure to hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals, materials, and welding  sparks 

Assists service advisors and management by advising the most economical yet effective repair of customer or company  equipment 

Responsible for competent completion of daily maintenance and major repairs that are assigned Support administrative policies and assigned duties

Job Description: Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, this position will be responsible for diagnosing, adjusting, repairing, or overhauling recreation vehicles including travel trailers as well as tractor trailers. This individual should have experience with the following components; maintaining gas, electrical, hydraulics, plumbing, and chassis/towing systems as well as repairing generators, appliances, and interior finish work. This full-time position will work first shift, Monday through Friday, and be based out of Colonial Truck and Trailer Service in Williamsburg, VA.

Responsibilities:

• Locate and repair frayed wiring, broken connections, or incorrect wiring
• Repair plumbing and propane gas lines
• Examine and test operation of parts/systems to ensure completeness of repairs
• Inspect, repair, and replace brake systems
• Remove damaged exterior panels, repair, and replace structural frame members
• Refinish wood surfaces on cabinets, doors, moldings, and floors
• Performing preventative maintenance on RV and tractor trailers
• Inspecting, servicing, and replacing trailer parts including tires
• Ensuring trailer meets the US Department of Transportation road safety requirements
• Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations

This highly motivated, self-sufficient operator is expected to be a “walking example” of the organized professional operation that TEI strives to be. There are open diesel technician position open in both the Hampton, VA and Chesapeake, VA locations.

This highly motivated, self-sufficient operator is expected to be a “walking example” of the organized professional operation that TEI strives to be. The ideal candidate will be highly adaptive to changing environments, schedules, and applicable regulations.

Requirements:

Class A CDL license endorsement

Must have or be able to obtain DAD/Towing license

No automatic restrictions

Must have or be able to obtain TWIC and military base access

Lowboy/Landoll Ops must have equipment moving and flatbed experience

Have medical examiners certification

Clean MVR

Must have at least 3 years’ experience as a wrecker operator of heavy duty rollback trucks

Must be fluent in the English language

Must have and keep current a USA issued driver's license

Must have excellent customer etiquette and communication skills

Have the ability and desire to form close working relationships with other team members
